At AURIAS™ Diamonds we have a simple desire. To ensure that your diamond buying experience matches the purpose behind this precious gift. A time for joy, comfort and deep satisfaction. We’ve made it easy for you to make sure you are buying the real thing by authorizing AURIAS jewelers. Places with impeccable credentials where you can ask for an AURIAS Diamond and not be disappointed. As there are several competing brands of Canadian Diamonds this guide will help you determine that you are indeed purchasing a true Canadian diamond.

1. Why buy a Canadian diamond?

Unlike most diamonds - which may come from anywhere in the world - AURIAS™ true Canadian diamonds give you the satisfaction of knowing that your diamond is Canadian and has been produced with adherence to ethical and environmental guidelines and fair labour practices.

2. What makes an AURIAS Diamond different from other Canadian diamonds?

The Ekati Diamond Mine™ is the first operating diamond mine in Canada. This means that an AURIAS-branded diamond offers complete assurance that the diamond originated in the Ekati Diamond Mine™.

3. What certification comes with the diamond to authenticate its Canadian origin?

AURIAS diamonds are branded with the AURIAS™ logo laser-inscribed on the girdle along with the CanadaMark™ serial number of the diamond. Of course, any diamond can be laser-engraved. So each AURIAS diamond is also accompanied by a CanadaMark™ certificate card which allows you to verify your diamond through the CanadaMark™ web page. This proves that the diamond came from Canada. Each AURIAS Select™ diamond also comes with an AGS certificate identifying the unique characteristics of the diamond. Ask your jeweler if they abide by The Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct, this Code establishes a minimum standard required to validate a Canadian Diamond claim based on a paper trail and a chain of warranties, which was found to be the most appropriate system to validate claims on the origin of Canadian diamonds.

4. What factors influence diamond pricing?

Diamonds are available in a wide range of prices. You are certain to find one within your price range. Differences in cut, clarity, carat (size) and color will affect a diamonds' price. When you begin shopping for a diamond, it will be useful to have determined a price range and a preference for which of these diamond characteristics is most important to you. Your jeweler should be knowledgeable in all types of diamonds and be able to give you a written quote. Ask to see the diamond's grading certificate from a gemological laboratory. Feel free to shop around and get quotes from other jewelers until you're satisfied.

5. What is AGS000?

AURIAS never compromises. When a diamond achieves excellence in its proportion, symmetry, and polish it is known as a triple-ideal stone. Creating a triple-ideal stone is so difficult less than 1% of all diamonds achieve it. AURIAS Select™ diamonds are graded by the American Gem Society (AGS), who give this cut a grade called AGS 000 (triple zero), which represents their highest grade. AURIAS Select™ branded diamonds come with a certificate by AGS testifying to this triple-ideal grade.

6. What are the hearts and arrows? How can I see them?

With proper equipment you can see that your AURIAS Select™ diamond has a perfect set of eight hearts. Along with your diamond's exceptional brilliance and clarity, these hearts are clear and distinct with a symmetry that other diamonds can only hope to achieve. Ask your AURIAS retailer for a demonstration.
